Cookie policy

One necessary entry to remember your choice, and analytics only if you say yes. No advertising, no profiling, nothing sold.

Last updated 3 September 2026

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use as few as we can manage.

Necessary — always on

One entry stored in your browser records whether you accepted or declined analytics, so that we do not have to ask again on every page. It contains nothing but that choice and is not shared with anyone. It cannot be switched off, because without it we would have no way of respecting your answer.

  • Name: nds-consent
  • Stores: the value all or necessary
  • Where: your own browser’s local storage, on your device

Analytics — only with your consent

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies that let us see, in aggregate, which pages are read and how people arrive at the site. We use this to decide what to write next. IP addresses are anonymised, and we do not use analytics to identify individuals.

If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the analytics script is not loaded at all. Declining is a single click and costs you nothing on this site.

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No profiling, and no selling of data to anyone.

Changing your mind

Open cookie settings at any time — the link is also in the footer of every page — and choose again. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser’s own settings, which will make the banner appear again on your next visit.
